When it came to selecting a vendor to design and install the more than two dozen computers in the new Dr. William Herrick Community Health Care Library and adjacent offices, the Grossmont Healthcare District found an experienced partner in the San Diego-based firm InSynergy Consulting Group.

Douglas Sperber, founder and Managing Director of the consulting firm, indicates the challenge for this type of facility was "to study the needs and achieve the best solution."

"Everything from designing the wiring plan to networking the computers most efficiently, to the selection of the right software to import data quickly and cleanly from outside sources was pulled together," he said. "In the final package we made our recommendations based not only on the actual hardware and software, but on such factors as warranties, quality assurance, and testing as well."

Five of the firm's people worked on the facility's computer systems. They are John Campbell, Regional Manager; CJ Thompson, Senior Consultant; John Stevens, Consultant; Marc Ray, Web Developer; and Stefan Larson, Consultant.

The library is equipped with both Dell PCs and Macintosh iMacs.

InSynergy's local office is located at 6190 Fairmount Avenue, Suite D, San Diego CA 92120. The firm also serves the European market from offices in Spain, Norway, and Italy. For more information, call (619)243-2972.
